Oil on Canvas

From the Artist:
This painting was inspired by a photo I took while I was in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. I stayed off the beach where you could not swim due to the current being way too strong.
The current made the waves brutally crash onto the shore. The wave would take the water and churn the sand under making these amazing waves. I enjoyed watching the power of the ocean and how it would do this with the sand.
I love this wave, it is different than the waves out in the ocean. I loved this perspective of this wave and how they came upon the shore.
I used real sand in this painting to give it more texture to the piece which I think brings more depth to go along with the drama of the wave.
