Elements Series

Bringing in ELEMENTS of the earth

                                                                                                  into Fine Art

My “Elements” series is a creative blending of semiprecious stones and unique pieces of the earth with traditional fine art. I love nature. I love finding things that were created by nature such as semiprecious stones, shells an other items, some of which are millions of years old.

“I’ve never seen anything like it”

Most of the stones I use have been collected for a year in order to work out my compositions and then incorporate them into my paintings.

I get them from all around the world and from various vendors. Each semiprecious stone has individual properties generated energetically from the stone. The energy can be felt by wearing the stone, touching the stone and by having the stone in a room of your home.

I encourage people to touch the stones on the art to resonate with its properties. I include properties of the stones with the descriptions. Some stones are healing, energizing, loving, calming. Some resonate with different chakras and evoke emotions. These properties will fill your room where the art will hang.

I love working with and showcasing the unique beauty found in each semiprecious stone. I work with mostly Grade A and B semiprecious stones. Sometimes I use stones that are in rough form before they are faceted like a fine piece of jewelry. The semiprecious stones I use in my Elements series come from all over the world.

I hope you enjoy these unique works as much as I enjoy creating them.

From the Artist:

I wanted this painting to be 3/4 semiprecious stones, I wanted it to be full of perspective with all the different stones, sizes, types and colors. This is the first painting I have done in this size and scale before with this many stones. It to me was so great. … Until I had to lift it….I could’nt. It was so funny. It is not light by any means, but so worth it. I joke and say I should start working with feathers. 🙂

I wanted to use darker stones to go with the deep rich glow of a sunset, which is one of my favorite things.

I wanted to use all different sizes of stones in order to give the painting perspective and depth.

I used 4 different kinds of Mica in this piece to also give the mountains more depth.

Tiger’s Iron

Pudding Stone: from South Dakota.

The stone was named by English settlers in this area, about 1840, because it looked like their boiled suet pudding with cherries and currants (Christmas Pudding).

Puddingstone, or Pudding stone, is a conglomerate rock made up of a mixture of different, irregular sized grains and pebbles held together by a finer matrix, usually formed from quartz sand called quartzite . The pudding stone pebbles vary in color from red to brown and pink to purple. Pudding stones are considered metamorphic and sedimentary. The sedimentary rock is formed in river channels and may contain various minerals such as chromite, corundum, platinum, diamond, gold, sapphire, and zircon.

The history of this rock starts in the Huronian period of the Proterozoic era, approximately one billion years ago.

Pudding stone prevents tissue deterioration of internal organs and muscles, strengthens immune system and promotes body balance, smoothens any pain or disorder.

Mica: It is used to improve visions and clarity in mysticism. It is said to help eliminate negative personality traits by helping one recognize them. Mica is said to enhance flexibility in all realms and also assist growth in those areas. It is used to diminish anger, hostility, and nervous energy. Mica aligns energy of the body and releases blockages of energy within the body.
