Bringing in ELEMENTS of the earth
into Fine Art
My “Elements” series is a creative blending of semiprecious stones and unique pieces of the earth with traditional fine art. I love nature. I love finding things that were created by nature such as semiprecious stones, shells an other items, some of which are millions of years old.
“I’ve never seen anything like it”
Most of the stones I use have been collected for a year in order to work out my compositions and then incorporate them into my paintings.
I get them from all around the world and from various vendors. Each semiprecious stone has individual properties generated energetically from the stone. The energy can be felt by wearing the stone, touching the stone and by having the stone in a room of your home.
I encourage people to touch the stones on the art to resonate with its properties. I include properties of the stones with the descriptions. Some stones are healing, energizing, loving, calming. Some resonate with different chakras and evoke emotions. These properties will fill your room where the art will hang.
I love working with and showcasing the unique beauty found in each semiprecious stone. I work with mostly Grade A and B semiprecious stones. Sometimes I use stones that are in rough form before they are faceted like a fine piece of jewelry. The semiprecious stones I use in my Elements series come from all over the world.
I hope you enjoy these unique works as much as I enjoy creating them.
From the Artist:
Infusion: bringing two things together and becoming ONE. Change, constant energy, the one thing that is certain; constant change. This painting was inspired by things evolving and fusing together to create something bigger, better, two is greater than one “they” say… ? Maybe.
We are all wanting to evolve, to grow to have our circumstances change where we are all coming together to co-create new things. This could be ideas, lives, relationships, art and … etc. on and on. This painting was inspired by that.
I wanted to use the Kyanite in a way where is created motion in the painting. Flowing in a direction where the two panels are coming together. I loved how the Kyanite is so harsh and spiky yet dull and matte.
As for the geodes, they hold special meaning to me from the person I got them from, a great person with great energy. So it was fun to use them and tie they together with the Kyanite. Infusing the energy of where I got the stones, the stones themselves with the energy of the movement and flow of the painting. It was a fun piece to do and work with that much Kyanite.
Kyanite: is a stone of channeling, altered states, vivid dreams, dream recall, and visualizations. It gives protection during these states. It brings loyalty, honesty and tranquility, and diminishes anger and confusion. Kyanite does not retain negative energy and never needs energetic cleansing. It does align and balance all chakras, often very suddenly. Kyanite can remove energy blockages.
Coconut Geode: Creativity, family and harmony, especially in the home. Geodes themselves represent a strong feminine aspect; due to the hollow, round nature of them like a womb.
Quartz Crystal: Wonderful multi use stone. Enhances energy of all other stones and metals. Harmonious and powerful. Aids communication. Sign of Entire Zodiac.
Agate: Protection, Strength, Harmony. Agate’s most noticeable properties overall are balancing yin/yang energy, courage, protection, healing, and calming.
Agate is a stone of strength. It was used by the Ancients on the breastplates of armor to give warriors strength and make them victorious in battle. Energetically, it is considered to give strength in both battle and physically.
