Bringing in ELEMENTS of the earth into Fine Art
My “Elements” series is a creative blending of semi-precious stones and unique pieces of the earth with traditional fine art. I love finding and using things that were created by nature such as semi-precious stones and sea shells, using them in unique and creative ways.
“I’ve never seen anything like it” Is the biggest comment I get.
The semi-precious stones I use in my Elements series come from all over the world from various sources. Most of the stones I use have been collected throughout the year in order to work out my compositions and then incorporate them into my paintings.
Each semi-precious stone has individual properties generating energetically from the stone. The energy can be felt by wearing the stone, touching the stone and will fill your room where the art will hang.
I encourage people to touch the stones on the art to resonate with its properties. I include properties of the stones with the descriptions. Some stones are healing, energizing, loving, and calming. Some resonate with different chakras and evoke emotions.
I love working with and showcasing the unique beauty found in each semi-precious stone. I hope you enjoy these unique works as much as I enjoy creating them.

About this Custom Commission Painting:
Living this journey we call life in such perplexing extreme polarities and finding the beauty in it all. As a whole this makes up who WE are. It is our gift and it is our enemy. Yet this is all presented to us to connect us to our inner core of who we are. Teaching us to realize that our inner light is eternally bright and beautiful no matter what darkness life puts upon us.
This painting is an abstract version of looking up at the vastness of the sky above seeing the stars, clouds and milky way. While in our struggle we look to spirit, taught that God is in the sky, above us and all around us, so naturally we look up to the sky.
We look up at this vast grand beauty and see not only what we see with our bare eyes but what we don’t see is also just as beautiful and important. We must learn to look without looking, we must go deeper, we need to learn to feel with an open heart with love and trust that all that IS which is exactly how things are meant to be, while dealing with such pain and doubt. Feeling hope, yet raw and vulnerable in being so naive that things will be ok while drowning in this kind of darkness.
We look up to the sky and visually see a beautify sky, yet if we look deeper we see the darkness, the pain that lies beyond the stars, so called void, the black hole or spiritually we call “the dark night of the soul”. On the outside we present fine, yet inside we have darkness and are in pain.
We live in a duality of being a beautiful being among the hardships we are in or the darkness. We can not forget that we are the stars that shine through and contract against the darkness, just like the diamonds in this painting. The diamonds are lustrous and brilliant as they shine with so many facets, just like us as spiritual beings and our inner core selves. We are the diamonds in all there beauty. No matter where we are or what we are dealing with our brilliance will never fade just like the diamonds.
Yet I also feel we begin to become complacent and look at things is such a linear way, dull and at times uneventful, even stagnant. We get stuck (representing the large mass of stones) and how they are laid out in a line, that not only represents that also was made to resemble the milky way.
There is beatty in everything and among this paradigm we live under of the night sky among the darkness is the beauty that will shine through.
Yet we sometimes among that darkness and being consumed with fear and pain we forget to look up at the sky or the brilliance of spirit. We become complacent of the pain and forget the beauty. We become focused on a linear view of dwelling on one thing and forget to broaden our horizons and spectrum of life and of the universe. This pain becomes an underlying presence in our lives, yet we forget that there is such dimension (which is representational through the large and 3 dimensional stones that are in the piece).
This is to show the dimension of not only spirit but the complexity of who you are, your inner core, as the milky way is the earth’s coming out and shining through as the stones of this painting makes up YOU, each stone represents being a beautify gem or aspect of your life and who you are.
Demonstrating such beauty and dimension in such unique ways with each individual stone making up a strong multitude of beauty coming together.
On the top part of the stones on the smaller painting on the left I painted somewhat looking flames that represent not only the pain and hardship but the passion that is still present among the pain, thus another duality. Then putting the Ruby’s among the flames to further fuel and ignite your passion.
It is our passion for life and for what we love that we will then get out of this pain and darkness.
When looking at this painting my intention and vision was to look and start at the left or smaller painting and then look to your right. Starting at the darkness and then leading your eye to the right side of this painting and into the light.
Starting to the left of this painting which is the darkness to then gradate into the light of the right of this painting. At the end or the furthest right side is the light, coming out of the darkness and living life in such joy, love and harmony as if you are on a journey from the darkness into the light.
The diptych represents the split between the struggle and the happiness of life. That we can break away from the hardship and leave it behind, it can become separate and not attached to us and make us who we are as a whole.
It’s all a paradigm, it is all perspective of who we are and how we view not only what is in front of us, but within us. That is also what fuels us, drives us into the light into the right side of the painting.
We need to feel the pain in order to be further draw to the light not only of spirit but the light that is among ourselves.
If you stand back and look at a painting as your life, it can be viewed in many ways. I will look one way from one perspective and then another once you change your perspective or intention.
Each stone representing a aspect of your life that when added up becomes a grand beauty like the painting as a whole.
We through spirit will continue to discover what is inside us, we are growing and seeing new perspectives through this journey. New things will present itself when you are ready. Just like every time you will look at this painting you will see something different, a new stone a new beauty that you may have missed before.
This is spirits and the universe’s plan. With one goal in common, to connect to the source which is already with in us and OUR core of who we are. To reach the divine to be among the presence in this light among what we see here on earth on the physical plane as we see the stars but in heaven where we will reach that eternal plane.
I wanted the right side of the painting to be like looking up at heaven, full of love and light. The whitest part of the painting is on the right behind the stones to represent heaven and spirit which is underlining your life. When looking this part of the painting to be a calm among the storm. I hope it brings a peace to you, filling you with the love of spirit.
All of this further proving the complexity of this life with all its dimensions is for a reason, bringing it all together into a whole, becoming whole in the process of all the complex pieces we experience here in this life. We continue to suffer, to grow and to build this paradigm.
We have a choice, to look at it and to be apart of it with loving and with eyes wide open, see it all unfold among you and within you without judgement. Or to let the darkness overcome you. I hope when you look at the split of the two paintings you will be reminded of that, there is a separation and not a permanent connection to the darkness.
We must fight, yell and claw our way, but nonetheless we are blessed with the beauty of a choice. Even among the toughest time and your darkest hours there is always a choice. Which will add up in the end to your beauty as a whole as this painting with all its dimensions added up into a balanced painting among the many stones that can also represent the chaos of life.
This is a Paradoxical Journey
